If this continues all the news and media outlets will be printing and promoting only what they think is viable. Little by little it has and continues; Murdoch and Fox, Bezos and Washington Post, jus to name 2. There have been some cases where an elected official, who just seemed couldn't think for himself/herself, would ask for a survey or a petition about the subject that is being discussed or voted upon.

Is this how you would want your elected official to govern, by survey or petition? If he or she is so weak and can't think on their own why did they run for office in the first place. This type of elected official seems to have no confidence in decision making and presents weak leadership, and would rather take heed in a possible misguided response from the masses.

Voters/citizens need people who can think for themselves, assess the issue and give the best possible decision they can render. Will they always be right, of course not, but after some further thought anything can be corrected. The key would here is thought..... If you can't think for yourself you shouldn't be making decisions that could affect others.
"Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-44839374604991322202019-05-19T13:04:00.001-04:002019-05-19T13:26:00.679-04:00Who is watching your HOA board and management company?I have always been a proponent for people getting involved in their local government. Now of days the most purest form of local government is one that effects our everyday daily life and that no one takes into consideration, it is your local HOA board and the management company that works for them/you. They all actually work for you the residents. Without checks and balance these boards become kingdoms for those who look to abuse the system. Why does this happen; because no one wants to take the time to get involved, just like any form of government, - so you get what you are paying your ever increasing monthly assessment (a tax) for. In most cases it is for mismanagement.

Why should residents care? Because these are people that truly control your every day life; right outside your doorway. They determine on what to spend and charge you and
if they are not financially prudent and have a management company that doesn't give the proper advise - it will cost you, and may cause financial woes going forward for your assosiation.
Now don't get me wrong, most people want to get involved to help the community and make it a great place to live. After all they are residents also and have a vested interest in what goes on. But you still have some who have a personal agenda and are only thinking of themselves. This is where you have to get involved. Now I also understand that some people don't want to run for a board but that is not just the limit of your involvement. Go to a meeting and just
watch and observe and say something. As a disclaimer I was on my board for about 20 years and the reason being was that no one wanted to run for the position. I was always an observer as a board member and now as just a good ole resident.

As for the management company - they manage the everyday functions and in some cases the financial aspects of the associations. The are the supposed day to day experts who do this for a living and should be more knowledgeable then the volunteer board; but the board members should still be aware of what they are doing; after all they work for the HOA and can be replaced by the HOA.

The bottown line here is to get involved - you may find it interesting and also in you and your fellow neirghbors interest. Keeping an eye on things doesn't mean you lack trust but; that you are asking for accountability.
(38%)

Well Mr. Richie Rich Trump you are hurting all Americans by your antics but all you care about is what Rush & Anne think. It is time for the 25th Amendment; but then again we would get that coward bot of Mike Pence."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-13161667633004512392018-10-22T00:38:00.001-04:002018-10-22T00:40:56.961-04:00Fight BackIt just seems that now of days in the political arena there is a super uncivil divide between the right and the left. Why is this; because we are being lead by a hate mongering, mob gathering President who seems to think he only represents a certain section of the people. He is not or has never been a President of all the people but just of his small 37% portion. More of a divider there has never been - well at least since Newt Gingrich, but he wasn't or hopefully will never be President.

Mr. Trump just seems to think that to run the country he is only to cater to those cowardly GOP that will follow him blindly. Doesn't he still understand that the majority of the people didn't vote for him and probably will not do it again. With a smarter Democratic campaign he will be booted out office.

His hatred and fearmongering and blood mob gathering has to be hit back and hit back hard. The Demorats & Progressives have to get down and dirty with this tyrant. And why should this be done; because turning the other cheek has not and has never worked. It needs to be done as said in "The Untouchables" - the Chicago way..... The time is now and the best thing that can be done is to let this poor excuse for a President feel the pain by getting the vote out this November and winning the House & Senate back, and then see how humble he gets....."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-35940482246007469742018-04-18T08:41:00.000-04:002018-04-18T08:41:22.892-04:00Switched Parties - Who Cares?One of the most famous politicians to have switched parties was Ronald Reagan, and he went on to champion his party and became president. What was his reason for switching? He had said, that he didn't leave his party, his party left him. I am sure that the GOP was happy maybe ecstatic that he converted to become a conservative standard bearer. Switched parties; who cares? In this case the Democrats

In Bucks County, Pa. the last Democrat Congressman in the then District 8 (now 1) was an Independent turned Democrat before the primary season & who admittedly voted for George W. Bush. He then went on to defeat a popular Republican incumbent and is a very popular leader in the Dem Party. Switched parties; who cares? In this case the Republicans.

Now for the 2018 primary the Bucks County Democrats have a choice between a young woman, who happened to have been a Republican turned Democrat and the endorsed candidate, a rich white guy who has been a Democrat but, didn't even want to run in the first place. He was picked because (my opinion) of his bank account. Shame on all those so called heavy hitters who backed out of a Congressional fight.

Now if all the party hardliners can hold against this young lady is her switching of parties; well I hope her actions convinces thousands of other Republicans to switch also. If the party is endorsing this gentleman just because he is a walking dollar sign - then the Bucks County Democrats have become no different then the Republicans.

The switching of parties makes for good campaign literature and propaganda; just think of those who would be disqualified just for seeing their convictions. It should be about passion and vision and as in any belief, a convert can at times show the old timers what passion and vision are all about.

Switched parties; who cares? Not me, I care about the passion, belief, vision and conviction of the candidate. Switching parties shouldn't matter, but maybe setting a standard of endorsing rich white guys should be looked at. How many good people would be held back from running for office because of such a standard? "Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-81552904994257293022018-03-24T11:43:00.000-04:002018-03-24T11:48:38.993-04:00What about the People?<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Today (3-24-18) is a historic day in the culture of America. Washington DC is being taken over by the youth of a America to let the politicians and NRA know that they are not going to take gun violence anymore. The massacre of our young in schools is not to be tolerated. The massacre of anyone who goes about their lives safely is uncalled for. No one should have their lives snuffed out by a deranged person who got their hands, even legally, on an automatic weapon. A weapon that is far from being used for the hunting of animals; but for the hunting humans. How many more bodies need to be buried until the politicians put a stop to it?
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">The late Senator Paul Wellstone once said "Politics is not about money. Politics is not about winning for the sake of winning. Politics is about the improvement people's lives." Now ask yourself, is that being done?
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">There is a way for change and the youth may just do that, and how, by finally voting the bums out.... They owe the politicians nothing but they are owed everything. Mostly living safely - we all deserve that."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-54930226395770759582018-01-06T15:32:00.000-05:002018-01-06T15:32:09.942-05:00Sour Grapes...This past election was a very historic one for local municipalites all throughout the Bucks County Pa area. Some townships after decades of one party rule (Republicans) and in some cases one party corruption; either monetary or corrupt decision making, have voted in change. Now that they have been toppled the sore losers come out and are already to making their complaints.

In the past they have appointed every crony they could to boards and commissions, excluding well qualified Democrats that wanted to contribute to their township. Making appointments at the end of meeting known as Old Business, so that there members are taken by surprised. Some elected officials are just doing the duty of the high ups at the County level, why? because they want to move up - just temporarily pretending to care for the township where they live.

Some thinking that their elected position gave they the power to say "don't you know who I am," when caught DUI.... Using the position that was given by the people to threaten police officers who are doing their job. It is amazing that people like this are now big babies because they lost and are now out of jobs. Jobs gotten because of patronage and making rich donors & elected high ups happy. Lackeys with no integrity to say the least. Instead of showing that they care about the community (and not just themselves) they cry the blues.

Maybe it's time to stop thinking about yourself, your advancement, your kissing ass and do something that will help. People will not care what you know or do until they know you care.... And not just about yourself. Before you throw stone from your thin glass home; remember what you did to lose the faith of the people....."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-33059055849456748042017-01-01T15:22:00.000-05:002017-01-01T15:28:43.155-05:00Time For Progressives to Progress<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Well I hope all the crying and complaining is over and Progressives realize it is time to move on. (No pun intended) Apparently the Democrats forgot what the word Progressive means and just tried to give us the same old. We need to progress for the next 2 years and realize that we "The Democrats" are the party of the people. We were out played by a huckster who just wanted to make a joke out of the process & in doing that he became the President-Elect and soon to be sworn in President.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">Wake up and realize that our candidate, although superior to her rival, did not communicate properly the the working class voter. She took for granite that she was the supposed anointed one and would breeze in to the Oval Office. I don't understand that as things got close to the end that her Cracker Jack team still didn't realize that they could possibly lose to this con man. A big shame on her and her team. They were just plain out coached and that was it.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">So what now. The Democrats have to be more vigilante and take the time and effort to examine who they will run for office - from the local end all the way to the top. Howard Dean had it right when he established the 50 state plan from the bottom up. It did produce many victories; from school boards to the congress. It is time to see if it can be done again and or refined to produce results. There was a reason why Vince Lombardi had the Packers run the famous Packer sweep all the time - It was successful.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">So let's stop crying and act like the offices are ours just because; but we have to figure out how to gain the MOJO back and realize that it is always about change and not the same old thing.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">We need to move forward and make progress by being PROGRESSIVE."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-64931860262340152542016-09-18T18:42:00.000-04:002016-09-19T14:21:15.844-04:00A 3rd party didn't cause you the race - you did, and get over it.I am always amazed at how candidates and their followers always blame a 3rd party candidate when their hero loses. Perfect point has alway been the Gore campaign blaming Ralph Nader. But didn't the Gore people know that Nadar was running and plan for the votes he might take and address their energies to that. I bet not because they just took for granted they would win - well that is not shame on Nadar but shame on Gore. Also how about the fact that if Gore had only won his home state of Tennessee there would have been no Florida; go do the numbers cry babies.

Now in 2016 we have a Presidential election with two of the most unpopular candidates ever in a two party system that only we here in the United States have, and we are not to peruse a 3rd party because we are told out vote won't count. To the contrary it would count much more because the sacrafice to cast a vote you truly believe in will send a message that things need to change and become more democratic.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump see all the polls that include the independent candidates and should know that they are in the race and will garner votes. Don't squawk and cry about it the day after if you happen to lose. We need candidates who earn our votes and don't think that the deserve our vote because they are a Democrat or Republican.

So rock on to those who want to be independent and vote their mind instead of party. With guts and determination we will eventually get a strong third and fourth party and finally have a true choice. If it is not done I feel sorry for future generations who will only have to choose between the 1% haves to rule our country. Hey wait a minute isn't that happening now."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-31106614767429961622016-07-24T13:11:00.002-04:002016-07-24T13:11:32.807-04:00Bad Behavior Gets RewardedWe have bad behavior all over in politics today, from the presidential level; but it also happens at the local level, and that is where people's lives are the most effected by corrupt politicians...

Here in the lovely rolling hills of Bucks County Pa there is probably more corruption per capita then in many major cities; which usually monitor corruption. If you happen to sit on the side of the isle that is in power and you kiss enough ass and you are willing to sell your integrity to the devil you will get ahead - all at the cost of the taxpayers and people who voted for you to do the right thing.

In Newtown there was (because he got promoted) a supervisor who was arrested for a DUI, in the process of that arrest threatened the police officer's job by using his position as a supervisor; a position given to him by the voters. Usually for doing such a thing a person of integrity does some sort of penance - not him, not even a formal apology to his fellow supervisors. His legal judgement was just as much of a joke, to the poor police man and the department for that fact, because he only got a slap on the wrist for what he did. Why? Because he had happened to be the webmaster for the joke of a DA Bucks County has.

In the meantime he has lied to the public, used scare tactics in neighborhoods so that large money contributing builders would get their way and more housing density to the detriment of those neighborhoods. He has tried to bid rig for certain construction firms, firms owned by high ranking power brokers within his party. He is and will always be in the pocket of a State Senator that has been using him since he became a supervisor.

The sad part is that this supervisor just go an appointment to a high paying $90K row office in the county because he has been a good soldier (like a German or Mafia soldier). The Governor was warned - well at least his lieutenants were - of this supervisor's bad behavior; and what was done - he was rewarded for the bad behavior. Just not fair to those public servants who want to serve the public and not the power brokers.

Now I know and I am not naive that these things happen on both sides of the political isle, and that is even sadder. Don't the people deserve better? Of course they do - but they have to pay attention first and study up on who they are voting for and not just become sheep being lead to the voting booth. Ask for those who are helping you to be reward when the time comes - because they will do right by the voters - and the voters need better then what they are getting..... Whether nationally or locally - the voters are the most powerful on election day.

As for this supervisor rewarded for bad behavior. A park where children play, people gather to relax and want some peace. The only breaking of this law is the discharge of the gun. So some one who may get angry for any reason gets their muscles pumping and pulls out their legal gun and if even accidentally discharges it..... well the broke the law but who is going to put the bullet back in the gun.

When this law was first presented a few years ago my fellow board members were afraid to vote against it (I did) because some almighty power said we "HAD TO"..... I thought it would have been nice to send a message that we did not agree...... who and why does anyone need to carry a gun in a park.... oh but of course to protect us against the lunatic carrying the other gun.... or maybe the two lunatics are two angry parents.

I asked my board the other night that it would be a great sign of principle if we were to contact our state representative or state senator of our opposition to this irrational law. The only one to agree and say anything was my fellow Democrat Board member Jen Dix. The other's sat there and said nothing - one being a candidate for the new State Representative office..... now whether or not a lonely township like ours could change anything may be a long shot.... but it may have started something..... but three ball-less members said nothing and what kind of leader with that State Rep candidate would be if he is afraid now to address any controversial issue."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-43295306661705762182016-06-02T08:34:00.000-04:002016-06-02T08:34:15.903-04:00Why are they scared???Harry Reid who helped twist arms in Nevada to get Queen Hillary the primary; all by threatening the casino workers unions; is another Democrat establishment official afraid of Bernie Sanders....

I was told recently that "you reap what you sow" - Well does that mean if I give my true opinion and not follow along as a sheep that I will get that in return. I hope so.... In today's political climate too many people are afraid to voice their true opinion because they feel they have to follow the crowd and that is why we get the elected officials that we get.

Myself, I will continue to sow what I believe in because I know that it is my belief and not someone else's. Now of course I am not going to be right all the time and when proven wrong I may adjust.

People believe what the believe and it doesn't make anyone else their inferior or less of a person because they believe in something or someone else - if that were the case the winners of elections would win by 99%.

Small town politicians are always vying to win election not because they want to serve the public but because they want to serve the higher ups in the party for their own advancement.

How do they do this? Simple, by making sure that the right (proper) professional firms get the work and contracts that they are supposed to get - not always because they are good but because they are party lackeys. Large contributors and party loyalists get their do with nice paychecks that will come to them at the expense of good government.

When voters are asked to vote for someone because, they will be a good public servant, they should always be skeptical and do their research. Voters need to be more knowledgeable in who they vote for and not always become blinded by what they are told. Watch out, for when their public officials forget to represent the public and represent themselves they have sold their integrity. As always follow the money and one will find that politics can be a lucrative business; and when that happens it is time to make changes...... Even in small town politics...."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-24846029401191086022016-01-05T10:22:00.001-05:002016-01-05T10:22:48.720-05:00Simple Question.... Is it because people are finally making a statement that they are tired of mealy mouthed politicians? Now don't get me wrong I am not a Donald supporter or even in the same party, but I have to agree that his tell it like it is attitude is attractive.

On the Democrat side I feel that Bernie Sanders is the one telling like it is in a more intelligent, and policy driven way. He has bucked the system and many people are liking it. Bernie has proven that it is time to speak your mind and that a politician is there for the people and not for special interest groups of mostly millionaires. (this is very much unlike Trump)

We the people must demand more of our politicians to be the same. We are owed representatives that actually represent us. Public servants that actually serve the public. They have to stop hiding behind their rich sugar daddies and stand on their own. Even the millionaire power brokers only have one vote, and the 99% outnumber the 1%.

So even though he is bombastic, bigoted, chauvinistic and an arrogant 1%er, Trump has proven that people do want a person who speaks to them.... Just that it is a person like Bernie Sanders has a better and sincere presentation....."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-27780550304016832922015-11-08T13:31:00.000-05:002015-11-08T13:31:04.508-05:00It all begins with the Committee People....

A political organization is like an army. To win you need a united front of foot soldiers that are called Committee-people. These volunteers are the backbone and the most powerful people in an organization. Without them there would be no elected officials.

This position has to be taken seriously and worked with passion. A committee person is an should be the King &/or Queen of their district. In most cases they are the people who candidates will rely on because the know the people who vote and the people to see in their district.

I am proud to be an elected Supervisor but I am also proud to be an elected committeeman in my district. As a committeeman I get to help others get elected and have met State Reps, State Senators, Congresspeople etc. Why? Because they need a committee person knowledge of the territory to win.

Some people want to bypass this elected position and go to the top. They always realize eventually that without the committee person's help it is an uphill battle.

So if you want to get involved and want to be respected in your organization, start where the power really is. Become that all important committee person - the candidates need you.

Pass it on!!!!

Most may feel that veteran politicians are always worried about who will and who won't vote for them and they eventually sell their soul for the vote count.

Well righteous newcomer, it will only be a matter of time before you will be looking out the same progression of events. You may have those fights with the establishment for your first few years while you are making you bones; but when it comes time for you to even consider reelection you will start looking at what blocks of voters are more - the ones you came to the dance with or the ones you need to make happy.

When this time comes and if you are true to your convictions, just pick up a book called "Profiles in Courage" and see what some heroes sacrificed for the sake of their political careers. Doing the right thing could be easy but the wrong or safe thing is always easier. Which will you choose? After you have addressed that then you can call yourself a politician or a public servant...."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-80519451734491927002015-10-08T17:26:00.003-04:002015-10-08T17:26:49.378-04:00Political Enemy.... Or Ally......

During a political campaign of in the world of politics in general...

Remember those who may need your assistance in the future and use it as leverage to get what you may need at the moment.

Never let a political enemy know they are an enemy, because they may be an ally sometime in the future. Sometimes you may agree with that so called enemy and then forge an alliance. Stranger things have happen when looking to defeat a common threat....

By controlling the agenda he has the others watching him and trying to figure out how to handle his popularity.

At the moment even the heavyweights don't want to answer any hard questions unless they know what The Donald has said and how it was received. Trump is controlling their dialogue and thoughts, and by doing so we will get more puppets and polly parrots. Unless, if someone in the Republican party stands up to this bully they will have the feeling that "If you can't beat him then join him".... And even if he is not the candidate with his popular spoutings he has bought the candidates without donating a dime....."Putting People First" - The ultimate special interest group.http://www.blogger.com/profile/01574966875390899538noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3445429185571306204.post-37504231291784150482015-08-17T17:07:00.001-04:002015-08-17T17:07:47.542-04:00Why is it a bad thing?Why is it a bad thing to be for the working people and if you are, you are called a socialist? Well if wanting working class (middle class when I grew up) to be able to support themselves with a living wage and to be able to enjoy the finer things in life for, them and their children, is being a socialist then so be it.

I guess I see it another way and, that is, that caring about people; and don't label that as giving handouts; and wanting to see all people have a good quality of life is what government should be about. Most people who believe in this form of democracy grew up in a time when people cared and we actually had neighborhoods and not homes groupe with strangers.

Now we have a group of millionaires (535) who tell us what working people should be doing and how they should be living. These same people were elected by the working class people to represent they, but then they get caught up in their own interests and padding their own pockets and forget about the people who put them there until it is time for re-election. This has to stop. Elected officials were not meant to go into office to become rich, but rather to be trusted and respected.

This is called "Progressives Speak Out" - well maybe instead of progressing we need to look where we came from before the bloated fat cats took over Washington and every othere local municipality in the country. There was a time when people could run for office because they could and wanted to - not because they had millions of dollars backing them. There is a saying the "you get what you pay for", but at the moment the only ones getting what the pay for are the rich, both Democrats and Republicans.
